Chance encounters + a forever kind of love
Although the pair shared a mutual friend, their first (fleeting) meeting didn’t happen until a 2008 party where they exchanged a brief “hello” and “thank you” (after John changed Courtney’s tire). The following November, Courtney headed to Santa Ynez with “girl-time and wine” in mind, yet much to her (and his!) surprise, she found John at the ranch, too. After a few flirtatious exchanges and a long evening chat by the river, the two were smitten and have been inseparable ever since. They both adore Santa Barbara; when it came to choosing a wedding venue, they happily chose Kimpton Canary Hotel.
